This doe has been around my house for as long as I have lived here, about 3 years now. When I first started seeing her she had a badly injured front leg. Apparently she has pretty much gotten over it and can move now with barely a limp. I’m glad she has survived her injuries.

These two little guys were hatched just a month or so ago and I believe they are using my clothesline to get the flying thing down pat. I would assume fending for themselves is the next lesson as they both are sitting there waiting to be fed.

Sometimes Mother Nature has a flair for the dramatic. Thunder, lightning, rain, sunshine, blue sky and a couple of very intense rainbows to top it all off.

I’ve been all over the place taking photos of the different flowers in bloom but as yet had not taken any from around my house.

I’m a big fan of Iris and have it growing all along my front porch.

I have talked about my little Rhododendron bush before. I planted it towards the end of summer last year and was concerned on whether or not it would survive. They can be quite temperamental and at times just flat refuse to grow. Although it didn’t bloom this year I expect it to next year.

компютри втора употреба

Iris is the state flower of Tennessee and Rhododendron is the state flower of West Virginia.

I spent the Memorial Day weekend 26 hard miles south of nowhere and loved every minute of it. I was out on my first real camping trip of the year into the backwoods.

It’s beautiful in the mountains, right now especially. There are a lot of wildflowers in bloom. The most noticeable is the raspberry bloom, or to be more true to my roots - them dadburn briar thicket flowers.

You could be blind and know you are in the vicinity of a raspberry bush when they are in bloom. They have a very strong sweet fragrance.

I’m going to have to look for help with these next three flowers. The first one I know but it has been longer than my memory can hold out nowadays. I just can’t remember the name.

When I started posting to this blog again I said I wasn’t going to talk about mountaintop removal but I am with this post just to simply say - this is why I fight. Why would we want to destroy something so precious?

—

Adding - I believe the orange blossom is a variety of Honeysuckle.
